Custom software

Built for your business. Owned by your business.

When a company grows past the software it started on, the usual answer is another subscription and another workaround. We build the system properly instead, so it fits the way you actually operate and it belongs to you when it is finished.

Services

What we build most often.

Most of our work falls into these five. If yours does not, tell us anyway. We will say honestly whether it is something we should take on.

01

Internal systems

The software your staff sit in all day. Job cards, stock, scheduling, approvals, quoting, reporting. These are the systems that decide whether a working day is smooth or a mess, and they are almost always the ones companies are running on a spreadsheet.

Typical size
8 to 16 weeks
Built with
Node, PostgreSQL, React
02

Customer portals

Where your clients log in to see their account, their orders, their documents or their usage. Done well, a portal removes a large share of the phone calls your team fields every day, because people can answer their own questions.

Typical size
10 to 20 weeks
Includes
Accounts, billing, documents
03

Websites and online stores

Storefronts and marketing sites that load fast, hold up under real traffic and take payments safely. Built from scratch rather than assembled from a theme and thirty add-ons, so there is far less to go wrong and no monthly fee that climbs as you sell more.

Typical size
2 to 4 weeks
Payments
Payfast, Stripe, direct bank
04

Joining up systems you already run

Your accounting package, your CRM, your warehouse and your website should share information without anyone retyping it. We build the connections between them, so the data moves once and stays correct in every place it appears.

Typical size
3 to 8 weeks
Result
Less retyping, fewer errors
05

Getting off software you have outgrown

An old system nobody wants to touch, or a platform whose fees no longer make sense. We move you off it in stages, with your history intact and the business running throughout. Nobody is asked to switch everything over on a Monday morning and hope for the best.

Typical size
12 to 24 weeks
Approach
Staged, with rollback
Our main product

NyViA, added to any of the above

Our support and sales system can be built into whatever we make for you, so your customers get answers inside the product rather than by email. It also works on its own, on the site you already have.

A question we get asked a lot

Open source or closed source?

Both, and the honest answer is that it depends on the job. Here is how we decide, so you can hold us to it.

When open source is the right call

Well maintained open tools are used by millions of engineers, are inspected constantly, and cost you nothing in licence fees. They also make you easy to hire for, because the skills are common. We use them for the foundations: the language, the database, the framework.

  • No licence cost, now or later
  • Any competent developer can pick it up
  • Security issues are found and fixed fast
  • You are never tied to one supplier

When closed source is the right call

The part that makes your business different should not be readable by your competitors. Your pricing logic, your process, the thing you do better than anyone else. We build that as your private code, held in your repository, not published anywhere.

  • Your commercial logic stays private
  • No public record of how your system works
  • You still hold the full source
  • Nothing stops you opening it later

What we avoid either way: long chains of small add-ons written by people nobody can name, holding up something your business depends on. That is where most security trouble comes from, and it is avoidable. We keep the list of outside parts short, and we know who maintains each one. More on how we handle security.

Where this applies

Different industries, the same underlying problem.

The details change. The pattern does not: work that people are doing by hand because the software will not do it for them.

Aisle of racked pallets in a distribution warehouse

Logistics and distribution

Job scheduling, proof of delivery, stock across sites, and getting the warehouse and the accounts system to agree.

Interior of a clothing store with stock on display

Retail and e-commerce

Storefronts that stay fast at peak, stock that is accurate across channels, and orders that flow through without manual steps.

A professional services team working together around a table

Professional services

Quoting, time and job tracking, client portals, and reporting that does not need somebody rebuilding a spreadsheet.

A laptop and phone showing financial charts on a dark desk

Finance and insurance

Application flows, document handling, audit trails and reporting where every change has to be traceable.

A clinician checking patient information on a phone

Health and care

Booking, records and patient communication, built with the access controls and privacy rules that sector requires.

A training session in progress in a lecture room

Education and training

Enrolment, course delivery, assessment and reporting, for institutions and for companies training their own staff.

Source code on a dark editor screenCode you own, in a repository that is yours from week one

The stack

Nothing exotic, and nothing you cannot hire for.

We choose boring, proven tools on purpose. Your system should be maintainable by any competent team, including one that is not us. That is the whole point of you owning it.

Next step

Send us the problem, not a specification.

You do not need to know what to build. Describe what is slow, expensive or breaking, and we will come back with what we would do about it, what it costs and how long it takes.
